This study analyses the reconstruction process in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, a city situated in the north-west of Afghanistan. It aims to understand the contexts that exist there and the operational methods of international aid organisations, the nature of coordination in the different contexts, and local characteristics, difficulties and potential. It is part of a broader study of the urban sector that Groupe URD has been carrying out in Afghanistan since 2005, in the cities of Kabul, Jalalabad and Bamiyan.Béatrice Boyer
