This case study was chosen because Chad is one of the most vulnerable countries and the least prepared for climate change, and is very frequently impacted by flooding. It aims to better understand the dynamics of mutual aid during the 2022 floods in N'Djamena. More specifically, based on 47 semi-structured interviews and a co-construction workshop with several stakeholders, we tried to see, by focusing more specifically on the Walia neighbourhood, how the floods had been perceived by the residents, what forms of solidarity had been seen in response to the floods – particularly between those affected – and finally how these had been coordinated with the actions of institutional aid (State, army, NGOs, Red Cross, United Nations, etc.) [...]Cécile Petitdemange & Aline Hubert
