In the past, the urgency of humanitarian interventions has justified a deadlock on the environmental impact of programmes. But today, with the establishment of "sustainable crises" and as programmes are renewed year after year, the negative impacts of humanitarian aid are becoming tangible: the degradation around refugee camps and IDP sites is making living conditions more difficult.
