This lesson-sharing document aims to improve how consortiums function in humanitarian and development operations based on the lessons learned by the KEY programme in Mali. It aims to answer following questions: What is the added value and what are the constraints of operating in a consortium or an inter-consortium set-up? What factors determine whether or not this will be a success? A Consortium Quality reference framework is also used here to establish the key factors of a ‘good’ consortium.Michael Carrier & Lisa Daoud
