The UNDAC (United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination) evaluation

UNDAC (United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination) is part of the international emergency response system for sudden onset disasters, responsible for the coordination of civil protection teams (INSARAG methodology) and initial assessments.

Groupe URD was part of an international team evaluating UNDAC, which is part of OCHA. The evaluation process included :

• A literature review about future risks, the evolution of the international aid system;
• Broad consultation of the UNDAC network and its members
• A series of activities in Italian and Swedish civil protection training centers.

It has been carried out under the aegis of a steering committee and overseen by the group of donors which supports OCHA.
