Context of the mission
The AFD team in Chad is seeking to strengthen its communication, accountability and programming tools through more precise mapping and visualisation of its interventions. The need to develop mapping and visualisation stems from: 1) the increase in demands for accountability from AFD’s supervisory bodies, the public at large and local and international partners, particularly in relation to the increase in resources committed to Africa by AFD; and 2) the desire to promote an integrated territorial approach, for which mapping is a tool to aid decision-making in terms of programming and activity management.
The volatile but very real context of insecurity in several areas of Chad imposes constraints, even limits, on the monitoring of projects by the various actors. The implementation of mobile data collection tools for these projects is a solution to this problem that the AFD is working on.
Objectives of the mission
This mission aims to structure and strengthen the monitoring of AFD’s activity in Chad by fulfilling the following objectives:
- Management of the existing database for Chad.
- Production of national maps integrating sectoral and contextual data.
- Any other analytical output aimed at supporting decision-making support, critical and project management capacities for project teams in the Agency, in particular for project information in fragile areas.
- Cooperation work with the Results and Development Impacts (RID) team for the implementation of a data collection tool in Chad.
