Providing support to the Yemeni NGO, Building Foundation for Development

Building Foundation for Development (BFD) is a Yemeni NGO that implements emergency relief and development projects throughout the country. It wants to consolidate its practices and increase its legitimacy vis-à-vis international actors in order to overcome the risk of funding shortages that could have a very negative impact on its work. It has therefore asked Groupe URD for technical support. The main objective of this cooperation is to reinforce the quality and sustainability of BFD’s programmes.

More specifically, this work will help to:

develop BFD’s economic model in order to make it less dependent on international emergency funds.
integrate the commitments of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) into BFD’s project management practices in order to increase the quality of its programmes and its legitimacy.

This cooperation project should help around 150 employees to continue providing assistance to the Yemeni population in its diversity, in an unstable context where international actors are unable to provide assistance directly.
