Funded by
The Spanish Agency for Development Cooperation
This evaluation, which was carried out in Senegal, had two objectives:
-* to evaluate projects carried out since 1997 as part of the co-development programme in place between Catalonia (Spain) and two rural communities in Senegal: Saré Coly Salé and NDiossy;
-* to conduct a mid-term evaluation of the MIDEL (Migration and Local Development) programme funded by the European Union and implemented in Senegal by the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament (the Catalan Development Cooperation Fund)
The evaluation was carried out using the Quality COMPAS reference framework and focused on the participation of the local population in the development programmes and the role of the different actors in the development process in Catalonia and Senegal.
This evaluation led to the writing of a book entitled, “Co-development between Catalonia and Senegal: Lessons to be drawn from 10 years of experience”.
