Since 2002, Kabul’s population has probably doubled, with all the problems that this can pose in a country whose administration is still inefficient. The city now extends in all directions and extends northwards beyond the Khair Khanah Pass. Public services leave much to be desired, if they exist at all. But little by little, the scars of the destruction that took place in the 1990s are beginning to fade.Béatrice Boyer
