The project includes training sessions run with the Lebanese Disaster Risk Management Unit, including:
- A training session to reinforce the capacity of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) around Tripoli to cope with the numerous risks in the region;
- A session for risk management actors within Tripoli Municipality based on the risk and capacity assessment carried out in April 2021.
This project is also an opportunity to contribute to the development of preparation and response plans to facilitate the concerted management of disaster risks. The area around Tripoli is very exposed to both natural risks (earthquakes, floods and forest fires) and risks related to human activities (urban fires, technological and environmental risks related to the Port of Tripoli, etc.).
