After members have updated each other about their activities, there will be a presentation on a study on the sustainability of solar lighting installed by ESF in Senegal. Possible activities for the network will then be discussed in connection with a project being run by Groupe URD. ESF will also present the tool that it has developed to measure the greenhouse gas emissions produced by humanitarian NGOs via their projects and their offices.
This will be the third and last meeting of the network in 2019.
The Humanitarian Environment Network includes Care France, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the French Red Cross, Électriciens sans frontières, Groupe URD, Humanité & Inclusion, Médecins Sans Frontières, Médecins du Monde, Première Urgence Internationale and Solidarités International. It aims to promote environmentally-friendly action both among the network members, and more broadly throughout the humanitarian sector.
