2015 was a difficult year… first of all, in France, with terrorist attacks that plunged the country into mourning twice; but also in the Middle East and in the Sahel, where the conflicts have become more violent and more entrenched; in Nepal, the Philippines and the Caribbean, where a variety of extreme events took place; and in the Mano river basin, which was affected by the Ebola epidemic. But it was also a year of hope, with the end of the epidemic, progress towards peace in Colombia, the adoption of the Sustainable Development Objectives and the COP 21 agreement…
The Groupe URD team wishes you a happy festive period and looks forward to ever more constructive and participatory exchanges to help to improve aid. We will be beginning the new year with training courses for local practitioners in Sudan, Mali and on the border between Turkey and Syria, and also with field visits to Colombia, Haiti, CAR and Nepal: once again, in 2016, we will be working in close proximity to crisis affected populations.
