To this end, Groupe URD was asked to share its views on trends in the sector regarding the localisation of aid and to illustrate these with a case study. The choice fell on the RESILAC project (2018-2022) which, through its territorial approach, has made the localisation of aid one of its guiding principles.

The territorial approach, as implemented in the RESILAC project, provides a different perspective on localisation, going beyond the question of funding and the link with national and local CSOs. In fact, by taking the territory and the existing network of stakeholders as its starting point, the project has been able to develop a response centred on local stakeholders and adapted to local contexts. This was achieved by creating a highly diverse partnership ecosystem (with formal and informal, funded and unfunded, multi-stakeholder and multi-level partnerships), reinforcing the participation and leadership of local stakeholders throughout the project.
