Training course for Sudanese NGOs on gender issues, advocacy and project management, March 2016

From 28 February to 15 March 2016, Groupe URD ran a training course in Sudan on gender issues, advocacy and project management, in partnership with the French Embassy in Sudan. The course was designed for 8 Sudanese NGOs working in prevention, protection and the response to gender-based violence. Having been initiated by the French Embassy in Sudan, the course aimed to build the capacity of local Sudanese organisations in project design and implementation.

The theoretical and practical content of the course was complemented by external contributors (ICRC, SORD, UNDP and UNHCR) who provided invaluable insight based on their experience and knowledge of these issues in the field. The participants, for their part, were extremely enthusiastic and hard-working throughout the course.

The work that was carried out to readjust programmes funded by the FASCS (the Civil Society Support Fund in Sudan) has been pursued within each NGO in order to discuss and validate the adjustments made before the implementation phase.
