On 22 and 23 June, Groupe URD will be speaking at the first session of the conference, “Humanitarian History – Reflections on Somalia” in Galway, Ireland. With the food crisis in the Horn of Africa once again severely affecting Somalia and the consequences of the emergence of radical Islam in Africa evident throughout the sub-region, the National University of Galway and Trocaire have decided to review the humanitarian action that has taken place in Somalia since the 1990s.
