Conference «Evaluation and Recommendations of the Response to the Beirut Explosion», November 2022

As a follow-up to the ‘Urgence Beyrouth’ Collective Study carried out by Œuvre d'Orient, F3E and AMEL, with the support of Groupe URD and North Leda, a seminar was organised in Beirut to look at future prospects, particularly in terms of coordination.

The crisis caused by the explosion on 4 August 2020 in the Port of Beirut led to an outpouring of generosity and the establishment of new forms of solidarity and partnership. Groupe URD and his partner North Leda have done a post-emergency study to learn lessons about how the crisis was managed.

As a follow-up to this work, a seminar is being organised in Beirut to consider the way forward, particularly on the issues of coordination and a dedicated mechanism to improve the humanitarian response in Lebanon.
