This conference on ‘COVID-19 and the humanitarian sector – impacts and possible solutions’ will take place online on 5-7 May, 2021. On 7 May, from 10.00 till 11.45 am, Valérie Léon and Camille Guichard will present Groupe URD’s ongoing study, ‘COVID-19 and future systemic crises: a decisive moment to renew relations between local and international humanitarian organisations?’
The aim of this study[1] is to document local aid initiatives (country case studies) and the new kinds of relations that they have established with the different actors involved, whether ‘local/national’ or part of the international humanitarian system. The study will help to promote promising new approaches (ways of being and acting) and practices (ways of doing). With the aim of achieving more complementary and balanced partnerships, these will contribute to more relevant and effective humanitarian projects.
