The aim of this event is to promote collective reflection about practical solutions based on field realities. The participants will analyse the relevance and scope of areas of activity aimed at promoting water as a vehicle for peace and cooperation, which were collectively identified in November 2018. In light of how the context has changed in the past two years, they will formulate recommendations.
On 30 June, Groupe URD will be speaking on ‘The issues at stake in implementing the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, and how this relates to water’.
The Geneva Water Hub aims at better understanding and preventing water-related tensions between competing uses, between public and private actors, and between political entities and countries. The Geneva Water Hub is a Centre of the University of Geneva, as well as a joint project with the Swiss Confederation (Agency for Development and Cooperation, Global Programme Water Division).
