Integrating the environment into humanitarian projects

Do you want to make your project more environmentally friendly?

  • Describe the various environmental issues and related concepts;
  • Understand what is at stake in the interaction between the environment and international aid;
  • Distinguish between the various existing tools for assessing the environmental impact of projects, and explain how NEAT+ works, analyse and use the data;
  • Adopt the appropriate methodology and ask the right questions to integrate the environment at every stage of the project cycle;
  • Describe the key elements of an environmental approach within an organisation;
  • Identify and describe best practices for reducing the environmental impact of an organisation’s offices and operating procedures.

Target audience: This training is intended for professionals in the international aid sector in all positions, for example: Project manager; Planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning officer (PMEAL), logisticians, etc.; and any person in the humanitarian sector wishing to integrate environmental issues into their practices.

Prerequisites: experience in the humanitarian or development sector; project cycle management; good level of French language (written, read, spoken).

Duration: 5 days online, 4 hours per day, or 2½ days face-to-face training
